As young families firm up summer vacation and moving plans, we have been receiving calls from many mothers who would like to donate their precious milk before the move or vacation. Thank you all.

Please be aware that the donor screening process can take 2-3 weeks to complete and we cannot accept donations of milk before the donor screening process is complete. Thank you for planning accordingly.

In the last half of 2012, 18 hospitals from all over the east coast ordered milk from MMBNE for their premature and sick babies.

Human milk is sometimes called "liquid gold." This reflects the golden hue of colostrum, a mother's first milk, and more importantly, the value of the irreproducible nutrients, antibodies, and growth factors babies receive with each nursing.

Numerous studies prove the nutritional and immunologic qualities of human milk and support its use as a preventive treatment for many diseases. Throughout history and around the world, mothers have shared their unique wealth with other mothers and babies.

The Mothers' Milk Bank of New England is a non-profit community milk bank operating under the guidelines of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA). Our goal is to provide donated, pasteurized human milk to babies in fragile health throughout the New England area.

Many mothers of ill and premature infants are unable to provide enough milk for their babies. The gift of human milk can mean the difference between life and death for these infants. MMBNE is proud to be part of this tradition.
